Check out our students exploring biological molecules in our classrooms. From building models of DNA, testing for the presence of carbohydrates, to practicing their pipetting skills and gel electrophoresis. These students in our Regular Biology and SpEd Biology classrooms are exploring the very molecules from which we are made.

The biology teachers from Eastie took a field trip to Harvard today to be trained in the PTC PCR lab with Alia. The lab is funded by the Amgen Biotech Experience. Teachers from AP Biology, honors biology, regular biology, SEI biology, SpEd biology, special topics, and our biotech pathway were all represented. We can't wait to try the lab with our students! Students in Ms. Dillingham's AP Biology class work with Alia from Amgen to complete a bacterial transformation. These students are gaining real science skills that not only keep them engaged, but also can be developed into internships and eventual employment in Boston's booming biotech sector. The Amgen Biotech Experience and Ms. Amanda Dillingham's AP Biology class work together to isolate student DNA, according to the East Boston Times.
